Briefs before captions

Why a short research brief makes every caption easier to write, and how to keep AI help honest and editable.

A caption is the last step of a decision. Before it come the questions: who is this for, what do they already know, and what should they do next?

A research brief answers those in a few lines. In Valcadia, a brief turns a topic into angles and formats you can accept, edit or discard. Nothing is drafted until you have chosen.

Keep your voice profile short and specific: the words you use, the ones you never use, how you sign off. Suggestions are only as useful as the guardrails you give them.

Finally, read every draft aloud before approving it. If it does not sound like you, it is not ready, no matter how quickly it was written.
